Khelhoshe Polytechnc Atoizu(KPA) was established on 14th September 1972 as nagaland Polytechnic to serve the needs of the state of Nagaland, which till then had no Polytechnic. Initially the polytechnic was under the State Council for Technical Education, Assam, and it offered diploma programs in three disciplines, namely Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering. The Polytechnic was rechristened as Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu, on 26th April 1984. It came under the State Council for Technical Education, Kohima in 1986. This Polytechnic is one of the Polytechnic selected for institutional development under the GOI Technical Education project assisted by the World Bank. As of today, the Polytechnic offers three year full-time Diploma programs in the following areas.
The Polytechnic is a co-educational institute and served the needs of the youth of the state. The institute has well qualified and experienced faculty who constantly are in quest of new ideas and innovations to enhance the performance of the students and the reputation of the institution.
